EVM Transaction
EVM-initiated transaction processed through Canton consensus
Gateway_FinalizeBlock
Block timestamp → commit, incl. the gateway-build-block call for block #8601
Measured from on-chain timestamps only: the EVM block timestamp, which the producer chose when it planned the block (whole seconds), and the record time (commit) of the Gateway_FinalizeBlock transaction; a commit that reads slightly before the block timestamp (rounding) shows as 0. The gateway-build-block external call runs inside that transaction and is not timed on its own; the import into the execution layers follows the commit and its time is not observable here, so those steps are markers without a duration.
